It’s been a busy week on site, as we try and get through as much as we can in the time allocated. Everyone has been digging out 18th and 19th century soakaways and other pits, as well as disentangling intercutting 16th and 17th century pits in the northern part of the area. We have also had two new members of staff start on site, Paula and Lucasz, and are helping them to get orientated.

Further updates to the journal will follow later in the week – we’ve been trying to take advantage of the good weather. BBC weather forecasts were supposed to be for heavy rain yesterday and today, but nothing so far… Fingers crossed the forecasts will continue to be wrong and we can carry on.
