Description

    • Fill of Post-Med ditch [1000]. This fill appeared to be the result of gradual silting with little sign of waterlain material in base, which suggests the purpose of the ditch was to mark a boundary rather than drain land. The top of the fill was notably full of oystershell perhaps suggesting that the final phase involved backfilling with domesting rubbish before a different land use regimen was put into place - this would also fit nicely with the ditch marking a boundary.
