    • Truncated large pit cut

Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Rich cremation burial cut [1801] was cut into (1912), the single fill of quarry pit [1913]. About 0.50m of gravel collapse/slump at edge of cut. The size of this pit indicated that it was dug for gravel extraction, and (1912) was used as a back fill deposit, used to level off the land in the area affected by the pits excavation. This pit was heavily truncated, and was also dug into by quarry pit [1876]. Cut [1913] was dug into the natural gravels of the site area and was one of the earliest features in this area of the site.
