Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Roman grave cut [1810] was dug into (1914), the fill of [1915], a small oval pit that was cut into (1974), the fill of [1975], and [1915] was seen as a re-cut of [1975]. Fill (1974) was comparatively sterile, and the function of this feature is uncertain, although [1915] was seen as a refuse pit. Cut [1975] was cut into (1888), the fill of [1889], and again it is possible that [1975] is a recut of [1889].

Dating Narrative

    • No datable finds were recovered from the fill of this pit, but given its stratigraphic poisition, it is seen as Roman.
