Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Cuts [1829] and [1762] were dug into (1766), the fill of a medium sized quarry pit [1765]. The size of the pit indicated gravel extraction, while the fill contained moderate amounts of CBM, indicating that it was a mixed deposit, possibly used to level off the area affected by the excavation of the quarry pit. Cut [1765] was dug into deposits (1742), (1854), and (2051).

Dating Narrative

    • A total of 14 pot sherds were recovered from the fill of this pit, all of which were dated to 70-160AD.
