Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Roman pit cut [1588] was dug into (1582), a moderate dark bluish brown composition of sandy silt, that overlay (1583), a dirty sandy brickearth. These two deposits formed the later capping layers in pit [1581], and overlay (1590) another moderate dark bluish brown composition of sandy silt, that formed the organic primary fill of [1581], a semi linear feature that was cut into the natural gravels of the site area.

Dating Narrative

    • Five pot sherds were recovered from (1582), which were all dated to 70-200AD, and five were recovered from (1583) dated to 50-160AD.
