Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Stratigraphically, underlying post Medieval soil (979) was (960), the fill within cremation urn (961) cut [962]. The fill was sampled as <23>. Some possible contamination with surrounding soils. A total of 6 Roman coins were recovered from this feature, and have registered finds numbers 82, 87, 98, 105, 107, and 391. This cremation burial was in cut [962], which was dug into (958) layer.

Dating Narrative

    • The ceramic from the cremation urn has not as yet been dated. Context (960), the fill of the cremation urn produced two sherds of pottery, both dated to 50-250AD. Context (960) also produced 6 Roman Coins. These have been dated to between 69-117AD.
