Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Underlying the layers of Post Medieval agricultural soils was Roman cremation urn 780. The urn was accompanied by a lid and stood upright in cut [781], and was covered with backfill (779).

Dating Narrative

    • The ceramic from the cremation urn has not as yet been dated, and not pottery from the associated fills produced dating material. However, given its function and its postion in the stratigraphic sequence it is clearly Roman.
