Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Cut [1065] was dug into 2009), the fill of cut [2008]. In this fill the soil stains around eastern edge suggested the presence of a coffin, although there was no sign of any bone. What was thought to be a votive pot was within the fill at the eastern end; it did not appear to contain a cremation. The grave cut [2008] was presumably originally rectangular, but it was truncated by a modern feature at the western end. The cut [2008] was dug into (2138), the fill of [2137].

Dating Narrative

    • Three pot sherds were recovered from the fill of this feature, all of which were dated to 120-160AD.
