Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Cut [1482] was dug into (1488), the upper fill in pit [1491], that also contained pit fills (1489), and primary fill (1490). Later fills (1489) and (1488) were notably different from primary fill (1490), seen as a collapse of the sides of the pit resulting from the pit being left open for some time before the later fills were deposited. These later fills were seen as mixed refuse deposits, dumped in order to back fill the pit and possibly reclaim the land. Cut [1491] was a heavily truncated pit, that was dug into (1646), the barren pit fill of cut [1647].
