Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Construction cut [926], filled by (927), was dug into (929) the back fill of a barrel well that had eroded away, that lay in construction cut [928]. Context (953) formed the back fill of construction cut of barrel well, it contained the metal bands you would find around a barrel, in the positions they would be placed on the barrel. This lay in construction cut [928]. This was dug into pit fill (911).

Dating Narrative

    • Three pot sherds were recovered from the fills of this feature, two of which were dated to 1480-1600AD, with the remaining sherd dated to 1400-1500AD; this latter sherd is seen as residual.
