Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Post Medieval cut [946] was dug into (1009), the latest fill of Post Medieval quarry pit [1015]=[1064]. Under (1009) was (1010), which overlay (1011), which overlay (1012), which overlay (1013), which overlay fill (1014). Fills (1009), (1011), and (1012) were sampled as <36>, <37>, and <38> respectively. This is a further secondary back filling event, overlying sub group 271, the first back filling event.

Dating Narrative

    • A total of 30 pot sherds were recovered from fill (1009), 22 of which were dated to 1500-1550AD, and eight of which were dated to 1400-1500AD; these latter pot sherds are seen as residual. Fill (1012) produced four pot sherds, two of which were dated to 1580-1600AD, and two were dated to 1270-1400AD; again these latter sherds are seen as residual.
