Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Context (1114) was overlying (1188), an irregularly shaped gravel deposit, that appears to be one of the fills in a large cut [1261], the quarry face recorded in subgroup 209. It slumps down towards the West, and is seen as a dumping deposit. Context (1249), a probable inwash layer, overlay (1255), a bar of re-deposited natural gravels. No finds just charcoal smears within patches of greyish brick earth. Lay within large quarry pit cut/face [1261].
