    • Cut of Roman Pit

Subgroup Narrative Text

    • This is believed to be a quarry pit, dug to access the gravels of the site area. The edges of the cut were very diffuse, and seemed fairly worn, indicating that the pit had been open for some time before it was back filled. Therefore the fills are seen as later deposits, probable refuse deposits used to to back fill the pit.
