Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Underlying Post Medieval soils (549) was context (569), which overlay (570), both of which were capping layers that were used to level off the area in the footprint of quarry pit [639]. Underlying (570) was a series of fills for the quarry pit. This is a possible sign of the reuse or reclaiming of the land.

Dating Narrative

    • Four pot sherds were recovered from (569) were dated to 1480-1650AD and the sherds from (570) were dated to 1580-1650AD.
