Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Underlying (809) and (810) was (881), the mixed fill of quarry pit cut [882]. The fill was predominantly gravel although there were lenses of clayey silt which was at its thickest at the bottom and to the south of the quarry pit. The cut itself, [882], was quite large, measuring 11metres x 3.6metres with a depth of c.1.8m. It was heavily truncated quarry pit. No finds were recorded in the fill. [882] was dug into the (847) the fill of [848].

Dating Narrative

    • No datable finds were recovered from (881), the relatively sterile fill of cut [882]. However, given the featrues stratigraphic position, it is seen as Post Medieval.
