Group Description

The size of the pit indicated that it was a quarry pit, and gravel fill (1871) was seen as a slumped deposit, resulting from collapse after the pit had been dug. Fills (1869) and (1871) were seen as later deposits, used to back fill the pit in order to back fill the area of the pit.
