Group Description

    • Late Post Medieval wall {1310} that lay on an E-W axis was built into construction cut [1410], which was dug into (1414), the fill of soakaway {1413}, and which contained a lot of domestic waste, such as ceramics and tooth brushes, indicating that these deposits were dumped post abandonment. This soak away was built into construction cut [1412], which was dug into Post Medieval agricultural soil (1288).

Dating Information

    • The stratigraphic position and function of this feature demonstrate it to be Late Post Medieval. The ceramic finds from fill (1414) were dated to 1840-1900AD, which are seen as intrusive resulting from post abandonment activities.
