Subgroup Narrative Text
-
- Post Medieval quarry pit cut [639] was dug into linear [786], and its fill (787). Context [786] was a Roman ditch. The orientation of [786] was parallel or at right angles to the Roman burials found in Area 1 of the site. The presence of Roman ditch boundaries within the cemetery also corresponds to other sites dug around the area of Prescot Street which also contained Roman burials. Only a small section of [786] remained due to truncation by the large Post Medieval quarry pit.
