Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Layers (1457) and (1519) overlay (1487), a large layer of Roman deposits. Registered finds 190, 320, and 321, all glass bottles, and lead object 229 were all recovered from this layer, that was possibly dumped deposits removed from within the area of the cemetery. This broad layer overlay contexts (1604), (1499), (1514), and (1559), a series of pit fills and spread of gravels, possibly laid down intentionally to work as leveling deposits. landscaping deposit as similarly recorded elsewhere in zone 3.

Dating Narrative

    • A total of 37 pot sherds were recovered from this layer, all of which were dated to 250-400AD.
