Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Overlain by capping layer (246), Context (1645)=(260), formed the fill of early quarry pit [1644]=[259], which was dug into (1881). This was a broad shallow Roman quarry pit, heavily truncated by modern activities, and the mixed dumped deposits that formed the fills of the pit are seen as refuse deposits dumped into the pit after the gravels were dug out.

Dating Narrative
