Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Context (945), a Post Medieval layer, overlay (941), the latest fill of [942], which was filled by (944) and primary fill (947). The later fills were seen as latter back fill events, and primary fill (947) was seen as an inwash deposit that resulted from the excavation of these pits. The cut itself was probably a series of smaller cuts dug out to access the gravels of the site area. The recorded cut [942] was dug into (952), the latest fill of [950], and primary fill (951).

Dating Narrative

    • The primary fill of this pit produced one pot sherd dated to 50-160AD. The later fills were dated to 180-400AD from the ceramic inclusions.
