- Layer/Pit fill. Contained remains of four and possibly disturbed cremation urns. Each given a small find No. Grid coordinates and level, and put on plan (961) with associated objects Nos <15> <16> <17> <18> (GC Area directly noth of 520/90 contains far greater concentrations of finds (within cut of (1161)) and was as a consequence considered to be pit fill with moderate amounts of pot, CBM, and occasional animal bone, Fe objects, crmated bone, large chunks of chalk and very occasional mortar, and small stones (DR)

- Not a homogenous layer, some variation throughout
- Excavated with mattock, shovel, and trowel. Conditions changeable
