Description

    • Deposit, probably a layer rather than a fill of a large feature of Roman date. Appears to have been dumped rather than formed through gradual accretion - this is suggested by the sharpness of its boundary with contexts below with little weathering, erosion and blurring of boundaries having occured. There appears to be cut features underneath, which suggest that this material might have been dumped to level up the ground.
