- Underlying the modern overburden was (1208) the silty fill of [1209] that truncated pit [1211] that was filled by (1210), a silty sand fill. Pit cut [1211] was the earliest feature in this heavily truncated area of the site. This was in an area of heavy horizontal truncation, and so the sequence was not very deep. The frequent charcoal inclusions in this pit indicate that it could have been a refuse pit.
