Subgroup Narrative Text

    • Pit cut [1509] was stratigraphically above masonry dump {1591}, which may have been associated with building remains in the area. It was dumped on top of (1634), the latest backfill of quarry pit [1644]. The masonry remains of {1591} were noted to have marking, one with variant sign mark 6 & hoof prints, and one paving slab that rectangular creamy-white, cut top & bottom, straight cut edges.
