Description

    • This capping layer looks like it could be the top fill of a pit which has spilled over, the material appears to be the same. Indeed toward the N of the site it is not possible to see where one starts and the other ends. There is therefore reason enough to assume that the artefacts from this layer could also come from the fill below, however this is not as detrimental as it could be, as it is elementary to assume that they are contemporary, if not stratigraphically then chronologically.

  • Looks like there is rooting action here, occa pot and bone
  • EW: 5.55m, thickness 0.3m (some areas thicker, some thinner)
  • Could be top fill of pit (1880) but does not appear to follow the line of the cut.
