Client Comments

These pages include some recent feedback we have had from our clients, particularly regarding our digital projects.

David Henry, Director, Savills (L&P) Limited, Cambridge:

“L – P : Archaeology have proved themselves to be effective team players, efficiently blending professional expertise and commercial acumen to ensure practical and deliverable results. One of our recent collaborations has been in respect of a proposed major urban extension to the town of Harlow in south-east England. L – P : Archaeology provided a GIS database called “Merlin” which mapped out the proposed development. Once assembled, the database has proved straightforward to update and access.”

Greg Dolan, Project Manager, Chancerygate Group Limited, London:

“L – P : Archaeology assisted us with discharging an archaeological planning condition on a small, 1 acre, brown field site we were re-developing. The local authority had issued the condition because archaeological remains had been identified on a nearby development. I was very pleased with the organised way in which L – P : Archaeology undertook the job. They advised us clearly on what we needed to do, visited the site and assisted our contractor; they arranged boreholes and trenches to investigate the archaeology, as required by the Planning Authority. None of the archaeological works interfered with our project timetable. I was pleased with the way the works were undertaken and have since appointed L – P : Archaeology on another larger site with a similar planning condition.”

Elizabeth Fentress, Vice-President, International Association for Classical Archaeology, Rome:

“AIAC contracted L – P : Archaeology to design the infrastructural hardware and software requirements for a database/inventory and mapping system to plot archaeological excavations in the area of the ancient Roman Empire. L – P : Archaeologywere, from the first, marvellous collaborators, designing the system with me and creating a structure both flexible and transparent, easily used both by the archaeologists who supply the data and by lay-persons. In all cases the members of the L – P team have been a delight to work with, combining archaeological and IT skills in the best possible way. I highly recommend them.”

Rosalyn Guard, Partner, Environs Partnership, Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning, Dorchester:

“We have contributed landscape baseline information to L – P : Archaeology’s GIS constraints map (Merlin) for the Harlow Northern Extension project. Submitting the information from our CAD files has been straightforward and the resulting comprehensive, interactive data display has been an invaluable tool for the design process. Responses to our enquiries have always been prompt. Finally but very importantly, everyone at L – P : Archaeology has been a pleasure to work with.”
